[Review] Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturiser

July 14, 2016

Shiny glossy legs, checked. Moisturized skin, checked. No messy hands with creams stuck underneath nails, checked.

Although my grandmother has been using Vaseline for years, I only became a petroleum jelly convert a few years ago after I decided to try this “eye and anything” secret that made Tyra Banks (literally) roll on the floor during her show while giving bedazzled Vaseline jars to her audience. Since then, I’ve slathered it on as an overnight moisturizer, a lip balm, and even with my liquid foundation if I want it dewier.

I’ve always bought their jelly for a few bucks at convenience stores but this time, Vaseline let me try 3 bottles of their new Intensive Care Spray moisturizers, available in major supermarkets and pharmacies for $13.90 per bottle.

Here are the 3 versions I received: Deep Restore (yellow) & Aloe Soothe (green) to restore dry skin and Advanced Strength Fragrance-Free (white) with double the moisturizing effect for sensitive and dry skin.

The yellow one is my favourite as it has a soothing vanilla-like scent, although the white fragrance-free one will be good for daytime use if you’re particular about mixing different smells with your perfume.

GOOD PACKAGING; NO BOTTLE CAPS NEEDED

I like the smooth, matte finish and thin bottle design that’s light and portable. But most importantly, I love the turn & lock design that doesn’t require any bottle caps…because I tend to lose my caps, be it pen caps or eyeliner caps, just as often as I lose bobby pins.

LIGHTWEIGHT & LONG LASTING; GREAT FOR HUMID SINGAPORE

The product was absorbed in less than 20 seconds! And I love how it leaves a velvety/satin finish without being too icky.

With the Vaseline spray on both legs for runway-worthy shine sans oil or greasiness.

LETS YOU SPRAY IN ANY DIRECTION & EVEN AREAS HARD TO REACH

It also boasts a 360-degree spray mechanism allows you to spritz the product even while holding the bottle upside down.

With the quick spray format, you don’t have to use your hands. Plus, you can spray on areas harder to reach, e.g. your back.

They also use compressed air instead of harmful CFCs/aerosols.

CONTAINS MICRO VASELINE JELLY

Micro-droplets of Vaseline Jelly is touted to be one of the best moisturisers with healing properties.

With that said, why didn’t they think of spray-ons earlier!? Now I don’t have to:

1) Get creams stuck underneath my nails
2) Get high blood pressure from spoilt bottle pumps

I would personally prefer a lighter spray pressure like those in face mists so it requires less spreading of the product.

However, it’s a fantastic invention by Vaseline that even the laziest people should be thankful for. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a long lasting and affordable body moisturizer.
